New Shire Logo
Council has recognised the need to promote the Shire as a whole and part of this exercise was to review our current logo and develop a logo that depicts the shire as a whole, be modern, colourful and eye catching.
Market Creations were engaged to develop the new logo and following workshops involving Councillors and Management Staff plus liaison with general staff a new logo was developed and pleased to advise was formally adopted by Council at their December 2008 meeting.
The logo has the rolling hills for the landscape of the rural sector with a portion of green and also gold that depicts the rural areas, the hills then split with a ribbon of blue between them. The split represents the gorges at the Kalbarri National Park, the blue ribbon depicts the three rivers, Murchison, Bowes and Hutt and finally the ocean.
The words “Simply Remarkable” has its own meaning. During the workshops a strong statement was one of the main aims that will resonate strongly for both the local community and potential visitors or investors. It rings true on so many levels:
· Remarkable landscapes from the rolling hills to the Kalbarri gorges.
· It’s remarkable in today’s time poor world that you can still enjoy the time of day in the Shire without losing any opportunity.
· The history of the area is remarkable for its many firsts.
· The remarkable transformation by farmers to turn the land into such a productive area.
· The remarkable fact so many quality sportspeople have emerged from a relatively small community.
There are no doubt many others that the community could think of.
The style of writing for the words “Simply Remarkable” also depicts the history of the shire. This style is a well known historic style.
With the adoption of the new logo the Council will now progress with replacing the existing logo on stationary, signage etc.
Council is very proud of the new logo and hope residents will also embrace it to promote our shire as a place to visit and a place to live.
