PROPOSED PUBLIC ACCESS WAY UPGRADE

CENTRAL SHOPPING PRECINCT KALBARRI

Upon a request received from a resident, the Council has been considering the upgrade of the Public Access Way (PAW) within the central shopping precinct on Porter Street, Kalbarri that houses the butcher, news agency, supermarket etc.

The proposal is for the provision of shade and seating with garden areas in a section of the PAW. Council engaged the services of a landscape architect to provide a design as presented. The design is to provide a rustic steel sculptured shelter that depicts the colour of the Murchison gorges with an element of stone shapes. Seating will be manufactured from recycled plastic which is long lasting and requires minimal maintenance.

Before any further progress is undertaken on the project, Council now seeks resident’s comment on the design. Submissions on the design are to be forwarded to the CEO either by post to PO Box 61, Northampton or by email to ceo@northampton.wa.gov.au by Wednesday 31 July 2019.
