The Shire of Northampton has two (2) branches of libraries, one located in the Northampton Shire Office and the other located in the Kalbarri Office in the Allen Centre. The opening hours of the libraries are as follows:

Northampton Monday to Friday 8.00am - 4.30pm
Kalbarri Monday to Friday 8.30am - 4.30pm

Kalbarri Library closes for lunch from 12:30pm - 1.00pm.

Membership is free to permanent residents of the Shire, and current members of other Libraries. Proof of permanent residential address in WA and temporary address within the Shire of Northampton with a contact phone number is required for all memberships.

The Northampton Library has approximately 2,265 items in the Library for loan and the Kalbarri Library has approximately 2,700 items for loan. These items include books, videos, CD-ROMs, audios - available on CD and MP3, paper backs, and a small local history selection.

The library is part of the State Library of Western Australia, which means we have access to state wide library facilities. If you require information that isn't available in Northampton, we are able to search the State Library's catalogue and request the information for you.

eResources - Northampton and Kalbarri

You can now also use your Northampton and Kalbarri Library cards to access and reserve a range of e-audio books and e-books through online sites such as BorrowBox, Libby, Scribd, Overdrive etc. and Movies and shows through Kanopy,  download service provided by the Western Australia Public Libraries Digital Media Collection. eResource - Hoopla

Hoopla is a free e-resource available to borrow e-books, audiobooks, movies, TV Shows, music, comics, magazines etc online. Hoopla can be accessed on your phone, computer, TV and in your car.
